    Description

    A superb and rare image of the
    Suzuki 250TB
    of
    1962
    .
    The Suzuki 250 TB of 1962 was a highly sportive 250cc two stroke motorcycle with some extremely modern features. It featured amongst others an electric starter, hydraulic rear brake, a 12 Volts electric system with turn signals and a fuel tank gauge. A novelty was the link brake system. The foot-operated brake pedal was also linked to the front brake, so both brakes were operated by the foot pedal. It was not the first time this feature appeared on a motorcycle. The Moto Guzzi 500cc 4-cylinder fuel injected Grand Prix racer of the 1950’s also featured linked brakes (like many of the modern Moto Guzzi V-twins too).
    The Suzuki 250 TB delivered a fantastic power output of 20 hp at 6,000 r.p.m. Its top speed of
    80 mph
    (128 km/hr) was excellent. Underneath some specifications of this fantastic and very rare machine:
    Engine: Air-cooled two-stroke parallel twin, cylinder capacity 247cc
    Power output: 20 hp at 6,000 r.p.m.
    Maximum torque: 1.9 kgm at 6,000 r.p.m.
    Length (overall):
    80.7”
    (
    2,050 mm
    )
    Width (overall):
    25.2”
    (
    640 mm
    )
    Height (overall):
    37.8”
    (
    960 mm
    )
    The predecessor of the 250TB was the 250TA. Not surprisingly, the successor was named the 250TC.
